Community Involvement

Goodwill of Central North Carolina, Inc.  I am privileged to serve as Chairman Elect of the Board of Directors for the coming year.  Last year more than 19,000 visits were made to our five career centers and more than 4,000 folks were placed in competitive positions with our hundreds of business partners in the Triad.  With 22 retail stores generating over $20 million in annual sales revenue, Triad Goodwill has built a sustainable model for helping folks find meaningful work now and for years to come.

Guilford Workforce Development Board.  I joined the Guilford WDB earlier this year being appointed by Greensboro's Mayor as one of the private sector members of the Board.  Workforce Development Boards are organizations tasked with directing federal, state and local funding to support workforce services in a local region.  Each WDB consist of voluntary board members representing public and private organizations and a staff to implement decisions and direction set by board members.  There are 23 Workforce Boards in North Carolina representing all counties.

Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro. With the CFGG I serve on both the Development and Professional Advisors committees. The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro inspires giving, maximizes opportunities and strengthens communities for present and future generations. The Vision is for Greensboro to be a welcoming and thriving place where people work together to enrich the lives of all.

The Community Foundation accomplishes this by:

  • Understanding what matters to the community;
  • Being a trusted partner that empowers others;
  • Shepherding successful projects that draw the community together; and,
  • Helping diverse donors create impactful gifts.
